Teen girls are imersed in a culture that works hard to define falsely who they are, soaks them in casual violence, unrealistic body images, the impression that money brings meaning and personal fulfillment, and shouts immoral messages about their role as young women. Right at the time parents want to give comfort, hope, and strength, their daughters move away from them and into a confusing storm of conflicting messages and values. For these girls everything in their world is changing at lightening speed. Camp will target building self esteem, aquiring a sence of personal assuredness, and strong, kind, clear leadership development. We will help them target their God given strengths, giftings, talents, and dreams; while addressing their needs and fears. We will do all this in a fun, beautiful, natural, equestrian setting!

This camp is simular to the regular Gal-Up! Girls Camp but has a emphasis is Showmanship with their horse. Showmanship is the ability to show off your horses confirmation and physical attributes; not on the horses ability to perform. We will teach showring presence, current styles, patterns, show grooming, appropriate tack, and how to most effectively feed and fit their horse. This is not a horsemanship camp. This is a ground work program. They will learn to control all 5 movements of the horse on the ground. All movements will directly apply to riding. We use the behavioral theory as taught by Dr. Andrew McClean (most successful Olympic riding coach). You may bring your horse or use one of ours.

Our number one goal is that they leave camp knowing Jesus as their personel savior, knowing who they are in Him, knowing what they can do and have, because of what He did for them! We intend to light a fire inside them, and fan that flame in such a way that it will never go out! We will start a Revolution that begins inside of them and spreads.... This camp promotes personal and team leadership development, building self esteem and acquiring personal assuredness. The program is also about sporitual development emphasizing the building of community with an interdependence that values each one's strengths and gifts while affirming the needs and fears of each person. The program is not based on any particular religous backround but it helps initiate and facilitate a personel relationship with Jesus. For teens ages 12-18 years. We spend hours each day with the horses as well as team building activities, all in a natural outdoor setting.

Enjoy caring for, feeding, grooming, handling, and building a relationship with a horse. We will teach basic ground work, do in hand trail course (that they build themselves), play horse soccor, team building activities (with the horses, of course), equine art projects. If spending time with horses and getting to know a lot of cool stuff about them is what you want... this is it! We will also teach basic horse psychology, anatomy, safety, and how to speak 'horse'. All activities will be done under the watchful care of experienced horse handlers and certified equine assisted learning facilitators.

** All camps include experiential learning with horses, team building games, equine art projects, including horse painting and jewelry making, camping and cook-outs, journaling, geo caching (high tech treasure hunting!), horse care, grooming, games with horses, and building relationships with their new horse pal and campers. Equine Assisted Learning can promote healing and growth through improving self esteem and self-awareness, developing trust in a safe and supportive environment, providing social skills training, encouraging sensory stimulation and integration, combining body awareness exercise with verbal communication, developing sequencing and problem solving skills, enoucraging self-responsibilty and promoting pro-social attitudes through care-giving experiences in a natural setting. We don't just do crafts; we do outdoor activities with a positive purpose! Our camps are about making Connections; with the horse, with the herd (of campers :) ) and with the self. The camp helps facilitate the knowledge of self with the horse as a compassionate teacher.
