We have recognized horses as a source of entertainment and pleasure. In the wild, the horse is a prey animal and their very existence depends on their ability to sense the underlying current or emotion of their surroundings. As a domesticated animal, that inherent ability is still very acute and they are instantly attuned to any lack of congruency in those around them; couple that with the basic curiosity and playfulness of these animals, and they become skilled at interpreting and echoing exactly what the human body language is conveying.
What has recently become more accepted is that horses are masterful at teaching life lessons and making core changes in the way we approach our lives. Herd dynamics become powerful metaphors for leadership, teamwork, non-verbal communication, appropriate boundary setting, and illustrating group and family functioning. For those who are willing to quiet themselves in the presence of these majestic animals, many have found moments of intense peace in an otherwise hectic, often demanding, frustrating, confusing world.
Equine Assisted Learning is an effective approach to assist in understanding the change-producing forces at play in our lives; it is experiential in nature. This means that horses partner with people to create a platform to identify attitudes and behaviors that often hinder our own empowerment. At Unbridled Faith Farm, no riding is involved with EAL. Under the direction of our team's licensed, professional facilitators, the horses engage participants to live their lives with authenticity, confidence, intention, and focus. Equine Assisted Learning is a short term approach, that affects real and lasting change, allowing the participant to experience the reality of making choices and projecting attitudes.

EAL is used in much the same way as a ropes course. Partnership with the horse makes it far more effective because of the horses' ability to read every situation and emotion honestly and clearly.
