I just became a Grandma! ... of a Breyer Horse, that is!!! Fleetstreet Max, ridden and trained by Alysa Bernhard, just became a 2010 Breyer Horse at the Horse Fest in Lexington, Kentucky last month! Max is the grandson of Miss Veta Cash, the horse I won showmanship at the AQHA Congress and many WI High Point AQHA awards with in the late 1970's. He was shown and trained by Alysa, who is the daughter of my sister Jenny's best friend, Sue Bernhard. My father sold Sue her first Quarter Horse and said she was the best rider he'd ever seen! I want to say Congrat's to both Alysa and Sue! I am so proud of you! Alysa and Max have more World Titiles than any other team in APHA history! Alysa and Max have a special bond... it proves that making important connections with our horses pays off!
Oh ya Gals! Spring is here...finally. The horses are shedding, their fresh and full of...p-- and v------, and we have to get our booties back in riding shape again! YEEHAAA!
Beth, Todd, Emmi, Peggy, Brenda and I have been cleaning paddocks, fixing fences, buying new horses to sell, cutting down trees, getting the trails in shape, and getting used to the saddle again! We've been setting goals for the best summer we've ever had! This year it's all about the enjoyment of our dear friends... the horses! We have Trail Races, Clinics, Trail Rides, Lessons, Camps and Special Events planned. We are also selling 'good broke' horses that children, beginners, and even husbands can ride! Beth and I buy'em, ridem for 30 days, and give'm our stamp of approvel. Let us know if you have one of these special horses for sale or donation. We will find them the perfect homes. The only hard part with selling these horses is that we fall in love with them because they are so sweet! We are also renting the farm out for special occasions, events (by the way, I officiated the wedding of Beth and Todd here at the Farm a couple months ago. Check out the photo gallery), and vacations! It's a great place to let your hair down, kick up your heels, and shut off the cell phone! There really is 'something about the outside of a horse that's good for the inside of a women (man)!'
Merry Christmas!
This morning when I woke up I found the ground covered with what looked like at least a foot of snow. After my morning cup of coffee, I headed outside for a walk with Laney, my English Mastiff. We started by visiting the horses. They all greeted us at the fence. I entered the pasture and began a group massage, each of us rubbing on the next. I love my horses! I ended up letting Kisses come along... I couldn't say no to those big blue eyes and persistent licking of my face (she loves my essential oils).

Beth Anderson, trained at her grandparent Dressage Academy in Germany, has moved to the Farm. She is avialable for private or group lessons. She will also doing Clinics with Patty Johnson in both January and February. We have great new jump courses both inside and outside! Beth has been awarded many titles in both B and A rated shows! At some point she will be sharing a very important message on how to recover from fear. Beth had a very bad accident where she broke her color bone, leg, and had much of her face taken off. She is a miraculous story...and she will share the journey back with you!
Lessons are still going on at the Farm, as are Trail rides thru the beautiful deep fall country side! We're going to train the horses to pull us up hill on our sleds...should be fodder for more teaching moments... he he! If Kisses and Legacy new they's be very nervous... We'll also be having a meeting on the second Thursday evening in December about the 2010 Extreme Trail Race Circuit! If you want to come...it will start at 6:30 p.m. and meet at the O.K. Corral Room. If you're interested in being on the Board or want to have a Race at your farm, be sure to come! This promises to be a fun year!
This has been a fun month. First I met an old friend on Facebook. Perry was a friend from ORU. (Oral Roberts University). Perry connected me with George who connected me with 5 Literary Agents. Wow! The power of Connection! The kingdom really is built thru relationship! I'll let you know how all that plays out!
Then I met a new friend, Jim. He was my favorite Aunts first love! His dear wife of 50 some years passed away recently. He is looking for my Aunt and would like to rekindle and old friendship and catch up on old times! While chatting about my Aunt I feel like I've made an important new friend. Life is such an adventure, full of good experiences and blessings !
I guess I said all that to say this; don't forget to stop and smell the roses! So many opportunities present themselves when we take the time to respond to them. Life full of good people and good excperiences if we will allow ourselves to stop and interface with those who pass our way! I've loved catching up with old friends, happy to see how well they've done in life. I am also very grateful for new friends like Jim. He's an unexpected blessing. A reason to smile. A gift. I thank God for all who have passed through my life and left an imprint.
Who might you experience this month? An old love? Friend? A new friend? Let me know!

No wonder horses are so peaceful and free. They always tell the truth. They don't care what anyone else thinks about them. They don't gossip, back bite (with the exception of mutual massage), they don't simmer with anger, hold a grudge, and they don't put on a show or have agendas... unlike women. Have you ever known a group of women who were very close for a long time? A group who promised to be friends through whatever their life trail brings? Then, when someone either makes a mistake, falls down (proverbially), or does something they disagree with, they turn on her? If it were a herd of horses that experienced something like that, they would deal with it in the moment, move on and forget about it. They would remain a tight knit herd, depending on each other for survival. Not so with women. We tend to kill our wounded! The Word says that life and death are in the power of the tongue. Women tend to gossip, back bite and murmur, and what might seem like a fair reaction to a percieved wrong is really a deadly sin! The Word goes on to say that we need to bless them that curse us; bless and not curse; and I will bless them that bless thee and curse them that curse thee; and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. The Word goes on to teach us that Psychic Prayers are intense feelings and thoughts directed at another, psychic prayers are a violelnt form of manipulation.
What a great day! It was so much fun to have new and old friends join us for our firts Extreme Cowboy Race! We laughed alot, rode carefully (it was pretty muddy), made plans to do it again and enjoyed the adventure! We've decided to make a curcuit out of the Race next year, going from farm to farm! We will be having a meeting in late November or early December to get it on all of our calendars! We'll let you know when the meeting is as soon as we know! The winners of the Race were, Lauren Wahl in first place, and second place went to Ginny Kurth! The ladies just outrode the cowboys...this time! We have a challenge from Morgan and Kenny for the spring...they are going to help with the course and add a monetary added purse! This is going to be fun!
Check out Carissa Rivera's web site! I am very excited about her up coming clinic in the spring! I had been praying about making some new Connections for 2010 and found my way to Carissa! We hit it off right away and have alot of the same vision for teaching the hole woman/hole horse. You can't adress just part of the hole and think you will end up with Balance and freedom of movement (being Unbridled). Carissa and her partner will not only adress your Connection with your horse, but also saddle fitting, equine message, and personal issues between you and your horse. What a wise and thoughtful approach to training both horse and rider! The more knowledge we have the freer we can become, both personally and as riders! Put this on your calendar and call me soon. There are only 8 spots available. We have a bunk house here at the Farm for you to stay if you wish. We have miles of groomed trails over hills, valleys, streams, bridges, thru woods, and along facerocks! I hope to see you at one of our events soon. Why not, aren't you and your horse worth it?!
Five more days until the Extreme Cowboy Race, Chili Dinner, Cowboy Poetry and Music, Vendors, and more!!! Saterday at 1:00 p,m, all the fun begins!
***LOVE REVOLUTION starts this week Thursday evening at Gal-UP!. 6:30 p.m. in the OK Corral! Get ready to change the world! There is no greater power than love!
